Terms of Service & Electrical Safety Disclaimer

Electrical safety warning
Electricity can kill. GridSpec results are engineering estimates for planning and purchasing only. They are not installation instructions and do not replace a site assessment by a licensed electrician. Never connect a generator, battery or inverter to a building’s wiring without a listed transfer switch or interlock — back-feeding can electrocute utility workers and neighbours. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions and your local electrical code, and obtain required permits.
1. Acceptance of these terms
By accessing GridSpec: Global EV, Solar & Battery Compatibility Lab (the “Site”) you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site. We may revise these terms at any time; continued use after a change means you accept the revised terms.
2. Educational and informational use
The calculators, reports, tables and articles on the Site are provided for general educational and informational purposes. Results depend on published manufacturer specifications and on simplifying assumptions — including 85% inverter efficiency, an 80% solar harvest factor, copper conductors at 30 °C ambient with no bundling derating, and representative appliance wattages. Real equipment varies with age, temperature, firmware, installation method and individual product revisions.
3. No professional advice
Nothing on the Site constitutes professional electrical, engineering, legal or financial advice, and no professional–client relationship is created by your use of it. Electrical codes (including the NEC, CEC, BS 7671, IEC 60364 and AS/NZS 3000) are adopted and amended differently by each jurisdiction; your local authority having jurisdiction is the final word on what is permitted.
4. No warranty
The Site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We do not warrant that any pairing reported as compatible will operate safely or reliably in your circumstances, or that the Site will be uninterrupted or error-free.
5. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, GridSpec and its operators, contributors and partners will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special or punitive damages — including property damage, equipment damage, personal injury, data loss or lost profits — arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Site or any product purchased after visiting it. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence where such limitation is prohibited.
6. Affiliate links and advertising
The Site displays advertising served by Google AdSense and contains affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases. If you buy a product after clicking an affiliate link, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. Product prices, availability and specifications are set by the retailer or manufacturer and may change without notice; your purchase is a contract between you and that seller. Advertisements are not endorsements.
7. Trademarks
Product and company names such as EcoFlow, Anker SOLIX, BLUETTI, Jackery, Tesla, Powerwall, Enphase, EG4, Victron Energy and others are trademarks of their respective owners. They are used on the Site solely to identify products for comparison. GridSpec is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by these companies unless expressly stated.
8. Intellectual property
The Site’s design, text, calculation engine, diagrams and compiled dataset are protected by copyright and database rights. You may link to any page and quote short excerpts with attribution. You may not scrape, republish or mirror the Site or its dataset in bulk, or use it to train commercial models, without written permission.
9. Acceptable use
You agree not to interfere with the Site’s operation, attempt unauthorised access, generate fraudulent advertising impressions or clicks, or use automated means to access the Site at a rate that degrades service for others.
10. Third-party sites
Links to third-party websites are provided for convenience. We do not control and are not responsible for their content, policies or practices.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Site’s operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Consumers retain any mandatory protections granted by the laws of their country of residence.
